       Demodara is rural city Of Badulla District in Sri Lankan ancient and most beautiful railway stations and also wonderful railway bridges available in this area. Demodara Bridge is some what wonderful thing is while Bridge was designed by Sri Lankan Engineer Mr.D.J. Wimalasurendra. The basic idea of construction this 9 arches Bridge & Railway Tunnel in Demodara was given by P.K. Appuhami

     Demodara is Close to Badulla Colombo main road and 8 Km to Badulla and 14 Km from Bandarawela There is a sub way to Springweli village this way is at close to Demodara Railway Station.

     දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය ඌව පලාතේ බදුල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ඇල්ල ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ටාශයට අයත් දෙමෝදර අති රමනීය ගැමි පරිසරයකට උරුමකම් කියන පෞරාණික නගරයකි. මෙම නගරය විශේෂ වන්නේ දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය නිසයි. 

       ශ්‍රී ලංකා දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ හමුවන එකම ආරුක්කු නවයේ පාලම ඇත්තේ මෙම ප්‍රදේශයේය. උඩරට දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ කි.මි. 275 ගෙවා ගිය තැන හමුවන 69 වැනි දුම්රිය ස්ථානය දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානයයි. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වාසය කල දක්ෂ ඉංජිනේරු වරයෙකු වූ D.J.විමලසුරේන්ද්‍ර මහතා මෙම දුම්රිය ස්ථානය හා ආරුක්කු නවයේ පාලම ඉදිකිරීමට මුල පිරූ පුද්ගලයෙක් වෙති. මොහු පි.කේ අප්පුහාමි නැමති පෙදරේරුවෙක් හා ඔහුගේ පිරිසත් සමග මෙම නිර්මාන කලබව සදහන් වේ. දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය බදුල්ල දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට ආසන්නව ඇති අතර මෙයට කොලඹ බදුල්ල ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයේ බණ්ඩාරවෙල සිට 14 Km හා බදුල්ලේ සිට     8 Km පැමිණි පසු හමුවන දෙමෝදර නගරයෙන් ස්ප්‍රිංවැලි මාර්ගයේ ගොස් මෙම දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට ලගා විය හැක.

Sir D.J. Wimalasurendra

     Mr. D.J .Wimalasurendra  was born in 1847 September 17 at Galle his family was famous mechanical Engineer family in this time.Mr. Wimalasurendra get AMICE, DHE, and MIEE Degrees.

In people of Sri Lanka Introduce Mr.Wimalasurendra the Father of Hydro Electricity. He was the member of ancient parliament in 1931

    The white people’s plan is 11 miles long rail way track Mr. wimalasurendra could designed 3 miles Of This Railway Track (Looping the Loop) Demodara Railway tunnel & 9 Arches Bridge designed by Mr. D.J. Wimalasurendra He was Bright Character in Sri Lanka Every Time He was died of 1953

     D.J. විමලසුරේන්ද්‍ර ශ්‍රීමතානන් වර්ශ 1847 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 17 වන දින ගාල්ලේ කාර්මික ඥානය පිලිබද සම්මානනීය පවුලක උපත ලද D.J. විමලසුරේන්ද්‍ර ශ්‍රීමතානන් AMICE, DFH, MIEE යන උපාධි සමත්විය. එතුමා ජල විදුලියේ පියා නමින් විරුදාවලිය ලැබුවේය. 1931 පිහිටුවන ලද රාජ්‍ය මන්ත්‍රන සභාවේ රත්නපුර ආසනයේ මන්ත්‍රීවරයා ලෙස තේරී පත්විය. කොළඹ සිට දෙමෝදර තෙක් පැමිණි දුම්රිය මගට එහිවු කදුවැටිය හා මිටියාවත හරස්වීමෙන්, සුදු පාලකයින් සැතපුම් 11 සැලසුම් කර තිබූ දුම්රිය මග සැතපුම් 3 දක්වා කෙටි කර වලල්ක හැඩය ගත් දුම්රිය මඟ (Looping the Loop) සහ ආරුක්කු 9 පාලම සැලසුම් කරේ විමලසුරේන්ද්‍ර මහතාය. එතුමා වසර 79 ආයු වලදා 1953 අගෝස්තු 10 වන දින ලක්මවගෙන් සමුගත්තේය.

The Marvel of the marvelous Nine arched Railway Bridge at Demodara (1870 – 1951)

   Late Mr. P.K. Appuhami “The Marvel and the wonderful architect” the one who had designed and built the marvelous Nine arched Railway Bridger. Connecting the two mountains at 169 mile post demodara and Ella Stations on Colombo Badulla Railway Line. Making the white Engineer’s dream true had resided ad “siri weda Madura”  Karagahaelle, Erabadda village Keppetipola in Uva Province, Badulla District, Welimada Electorate. He was born In 1870 and had contributed his great service when planning and the construction of The Ohiya Badulla Railway line This great man P.K. Appuhami had died in 1951 leaving his wonders to this world which more antique and still existing.

  ඌව පලාතේ බදුල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ වැලිමඩ මැතිවරණ කොට්ටාශයේ කැප්පෙටිපොල ඓතිහාසික නගරට යාබද එරබද්ද කරගහඇල්ලේ "සිරි වෙද මැදුරේ" පදිංචිව සිටි පී.කේ. අප්පුහාමි (පෙදරේරු) මහතාගේ දැවැන්ත විශ්මිත නිර්මානයක් වනු ඇල්ල දුම්රිය ස්ථානය හා දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථාන අතර 169 සැතපුමේ ආරුක්කු නවයේ කවාකාර පාලමයි. දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය සැලසුම් කිරීම, ඔහිය සිට බදුල්ල දක්වා දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ ඉදිකිරීම් කටයුතු වල ප්‍රධාන පෙදරේරුවෙකුගේ විස්මිත නිර්මාන දායාද කල මෙම යුග පුරුෂයා 1870 උපත ලබා 1951 පමන ජාතියෙන් සමුගන්නා ලදී.
